At Demleen, our priority is to put investing in Africa at the center of impact investing.
By betting on the continent's SMEs, we are choosing to serve the 'Missing Middle' segment. Constituting between 60% and 90% of jobs depending on the country, the segment of small and medium-sized enterprises is definitely essential in the construction of the Africa of tomorrow.
Faced with an annual deficit of nearly 300 billion dollars in Sub-Saharan Africa according to the IFC, these companies are then faced with many obstacles on the path to growth, thus depriving the continent of the potential creation of thousands of jobs
We want to put the challenges of African SMEs at the heart of sustainable, responsible and impact finance through the digitalization of innovative financial solutions.
With its digital platform, Demleen creates a bridge between many African companies impacting their territory and investors seeking to combine impact and return. The ambition of the Demleen platform is to access qualified investment opportunities in a simple, transparent, impactful and profitable way.
Demleen was born from an observation: at a time when many societal challenges are at the heart of finance, there is, however, a cruel lack of flexible financial products for any investor wishing to invest in the development of Africa. from France. From there the idea was born : creating a platform putting the most impactful African SMEs in search of financing in relation with various and varied investors.
Currently in the construction phase, the Demleen platform is positioned first on financial guarantees, which constitute one of the first barriers to access to financing and above all a formidable lever for attracting many types of financing. Subsequently Demleen will propose other types of additional financing in a blended finance approach.
Our founder, Eryomi Aholoukpe, created Demleen after having worked for more than 13 years dedicated to the issue of long-term financing (bond debt, syndicated loans, acquisition financing, securitization) in Paris and London on behalf of large accounts.
