Demleen develops behavioural analytics and behavioural finance tools powered by artificial intelligence in order to provide additional signals within credit risk assessment processes.
Demleen's services are designed as decision-support tools only. They do not constitute an automated credit decision, personalized financial advice or investment advice.
Important: outputs provided by Demleen must be interpreted by qualified professionals and integrated into an appropriate governance, control and human review framework adapted to the relevant use case.
The analyses, scores, signals and indicators provided by Demleen are intended solely to support partners in their internal assessment processes.
Demleen's services must not be used as the sole or exclusive basis for granting, declining, pricing, prioritising or changing any credit, financing or other financial service.
Each user or partner remains solely responsible for its decisions, internal procedures, controls and operational compliance.
Demleen's services rely on statistical, behavioural and artificial intelligence models that may evolve over time.
Although reasonable efforts are made to improve the quality, robustness and explainability of the outputs, results may contain biases, approximations, errors, false positives or false negatives.
Demleen does not guarantee that outputs will be exhaustive, error-free or suitable for every regulatory, cultural, economic or sector-specific context.
Demleen seeks to implement reasonable data governance, minimisation, security and traceability practices consistent with the nature of its services.
The partner or client remains responsible for the quality, lawfulness, relevance and legal basis of the data it provides, integrates or uses in connection with Demleen's services.
The partner must also ensure that its use does not result in unlawful discrimination, unauthorized automated decision-making or prohibited data processing under applicable laws.
Demleen's services are primarily intended for uses operated in Africa and designed for financing and risk assessment contexts outside the European Union.
They are not designed, marketed or documented as an out-of-the-box system for regulated uses within the European Union, nor for use by financial institutions directly subject to European regulation without prior compliance review.
Accordingly, any use within the European Union, or by an entity subject to European law, including when such entity operates in Africa, requires Demleen's prior written approval and remains under the exclusive responsibility of the relevant partner.
Each partner is solely responsible for analysing and complying with all applicable laws, regulations, prudential guidance, sector-specific obligations and local requirements relevant to its activity, including in relation to credit, data protection, consumer law, non-discrimination and artificial intelligence.
Demleen does not provide legal, regulatory or prudential advice through access to the Site or through standard use of its services.
Demleen may make available to certain partners an application programming interface (API) intended to facilitate tests, technical integrations, pilots or controlled deployments.
Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, the API is provided for experimental, evaluation and technical integration purposes only. It is provided βas isβ, without any guarantee of continuous availability, error-free operation, universal compatibility or minimum performance.
Describing the API as experimental does not exclude any mandatory legal obligations that may apply; it clarifies that the partner may not treat it as a guaranteed, autonomous or mission-critical infrastructure absent a specific service level agreement.
Access to the API is protected by credentials and/or private keys that are strictly personal, confidential and non-transferable.
The partner is solely responsible for the storage, confidentiality, use and security of its access keys, as well as for the internal measures implemented to prevent unauthorized access.
Sharing, lending, transferring, reselling, sublicensing or disclosing keys to any third party, including a service provider, affiliate or end client not expressly authorised in writing, is strictly prohibited.
Any request made using the partner's keys shall be deemed to have been made under that partner's control and responsibility. Demleen disclaims any liability for unauthorized use resulting from compromised credentials, poor key management, sharing or leakage of the partner's access credentials.
The API may only be used for activities authorised by Demleen and in accordance with the applicable documentation, agreement and this compliance page.
Unless Demleen gives prior written approval, the API may not be used:
β for operations targeting countries outside Africa;
β for services provided to users located in the European Union;
β by or on behalf of European financial institutions operating in Africa;
β as the sole basis for an automated credit or pricing decision;
β in any regulated environment requiring guarantees, approvals, audits or commitments not expressly agreed with Demleen.
The partner remains solely responsible for integration, configuration, interpretation of outputs, business parameter settings, human oversight, regulatory compliance and any decisions made using the outputs provided through the API.
The partner must ensure that its uses, customer journeys, decisions and data processing activities comply with applicable local laws in each relevant country.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Demleen shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, regulatory, operational, commercial or reputational damage arising from:
β the use of, or inability to use, the services or the API;
β any misinterpretation of the outputs;
β any use that does not comply with the documentation, the agreement, this page or applicable laws;
β any use in an unauthorised jurisdiction, sector or regulatory environment;
β the sharing, compromise or poor management of the partner's access keys;
β any credit, financing, selection or pricing decision made by the partner or by a third party.
Demleen may update this page at any time to reflect changes in its services, documentation, contractual framework, technical architecture or applicable regulations.
Partners are encouraged to review this page regularly and to contact Demleen before any new sensitive, cross-border or regulated use case.
